Gait Recognition Using Joint Moments, Joint Angles and Segment Angles

چکیده
INTRODUCTION Recognition of gait patterns has been studied intensively during the last decades. Different gait strategies have been elucidated by applying different waveform analysis techniques to biomechanical gait data [1,2] and it has been shown that individuals can be identified using joint angles in the sagittal plane [3]. However, little is known about additional biomechanical variables for gait recognition.

Gait Recognition Based on Joint Distribution of Motion Angles
as a biometric trait has the ability to be recognized in remote monitoring. In this paper, a method based on joint distribution of motion angles is proposed for gait recognition. The new feature of the motion angles of lower limbs are defined and extracted from either 2D video database or 3D motion capture database, and the corresponding angles of right leg and left leg are joined together to w...
متن کاملHuman Gait Recognition Using Body Measures and Joint Angles
Gait is the walking style or pattern of the human motions. This research aims to improve the accuracy of human gait recognition using the information provided by Microsoft Kinect. It benefits from a human joint positioning system by Kinect in three dimensions and proposes a new method in recognising the human gait. In this method, the angles between the body’s joints during the walking process ...
متن کاملBiomechanical Profiles When Towing a Sled and Wearing a Weighted Vest Once Cleared for Sports Post–ACL Reconstruction
BACKGROUND Though rehabilitation attempts to correct "stiff knee gait" and control for dynamic limb valgus after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), impaired biomechanics often persist when an individual is cleared to return to sport (RTS). Reduced knee extension moments (KEMs) and knee flexion angles (KFAs) often continue. While at the hip, increased hip adduction angles (HADDAs)...
متن کاملEstimation of 3-D peak L5/S1 joint moment during asymmetric lifting tasks with cubic spline interpolation of segment Euler angles.
Previous research proposed a method using interpolation of the joint angles in key frames extracted from a field-survey video to estimate the dynamic L5/S1 joint loading for symmetric lifting tasks. The advantage of this method is that there is no need to use unwieldy equipment for capturing full body movement for the lifting tasks. The current research extends this method to asymmetric lifting...
متن کاملValidation of functional calibration and strap-down joint drift correction for computing 3D joint angles of knee, hip, and trunk in alpine skiing
To obtain valid 3D joint angles with inertial sensors careful sensor-to-segment calibration (i.e. functional or anatomical calibration) is required and measured angular velocity at each sensor needs to be integrated to obtain segment and joint orientation (i.e. joint angles). Existing functional and anatomical calibration procedures were optimized for gait analysis and calibration movements wer...
